London

Railway tracks in the UK are determined either “up” (left) or “down” (right), depending on their ultimate destination towards London. The city is ringed with stations within a half hour’s walk of Charing Cross, and although they have been scaled back as goods traffic has diminished, termini are still extremely busy, bringing commuters, tourists and passengers to the capital. I spent most time local to my home in N1 and NW1, but on occasions traveled further afield to all except those serving the South East – and only Marylebone on a score or so of occasions.
